Seeking an Apprenticeship, Trainee Position, or Entry-Level Role in Civil Engineering

I am an aspiring engineer with a strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, and Product Design, alongside recognition as Best Engineer by departmental leadership. I have a clear interest in how real-world systems are designed, built, and improved, particularly where theory translates into practical performance.
My experience includes CAD design, workshop fabrication, and prototype development, with a focus on taking ideas from concept through to tested, functional outcomes. I am confident working through structured design processes, from initial modelling to evaluation and refinement.
I am reliable, detail-focused, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Alongside technical work, I have developed communication and leadership skills through coaching and operational roles. I am now seeking an apprenticeship, trainee position, or entry-level role in civil engineering where I can contribute my existing technical and practical skills, gain industry experience, and work towards long-term professional development.
My goal is to build a long-term career in civil engineering through practical workplace experience and continued technical development.
I am open to apprenticeship opportunities at Levels 3–6, as well as suitable entry-level positions offering meaningful civil engineering experience, structured development, and opportunities for further professional training.
Over time, I aim to become a versatile civil engineering professional capable of contributing from early-stage planning and technical design through to practical delivery on site.

Experience using Onshape for 3D CAD modelling, focused on functional engineering design and manufacturable outcomes. I am confident producing parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings intended for workshop fabrication.
My CAD work is driven by design intent rather than visual appearance, with projects developed from specification through iterative refinement. I understand how design decisions affect structural performance, material behaviour, and manufacturability.
The Engineering Trolley project involved CAD-led development from initial concept through to a manufactured prototype. This included modelling, redesign following testing feedback, and producing technical drawings for fabrication using workshop processes such as laser cutting and machining.
I am confident producing BS/ISO-standard engineering drawings, including orthographic projections, isometric views, exploded assemblies, and fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings. CAD models have been translated into physical builds, requiring adjustment of tolerances, fit, and assembly methods during testing.
I am particularly interested in how engineering problems are solved in practice, and how theory translates into real-world performance. I enjoy working through problems logically, using mathematics and analysis to understand how systems behave and why they succeed or fail.
I am especially interested in the practical side of engineering: building, testing, and refining designs to improve how they function. Small changes in materials, geometry, or assembly often have a significant impact, and I find it engaging to work through those effects in a hands-on way.
I am also interested in how different areas of engineering overlap, whether that involves structural behaviour in civil systems, mechanical movement and forces, or electrical systems and control. What stands out to me is the process of identifying a problem, working through possible solutions, and improving outcomes through iteration and testing.
Experience across customer-facing, operational, and hands-on environments has built reliability, accuracy, and discipline in structured settings.
Customer-facing operational roles developed responsibility for procedures, security, and cash handling, requiring consistency and attention to detail in a live environment.
Practical outdoor and maintenance work involved the use of tools, measurement, and basic construction processes, developing spatial awareness and judgement around quality and suitability.
Warehouse experience provided exposure to structured systems, including order processing, goods handling, and dispatch preparation, reinforcing accuracy and efficiency under time constraints.
Across all roles, I have consistently demonstrated teamwork, communication, reliability, and the ability to follow structured processes accurately.
